Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire National Park
The adventure begins with a morning pick-up from your hotel in Arusha, followed by a transfer to Tarangire National Park, known for its large herds of elephants and iconic baobab trees. Upon arrival, you’ll embark on a thrilling game drive, exploring the park’s diverse habitats. Picnic lunch is served inside the park, giving you a chance to enjoy the surroundings while observing wildlife. For those seeking an extra adventure, there’s an optional night game drive to spot nocturnal wildlife. After a day of exploration, enjoy a delicious dinner and overnight stay at Nyikani Tarangire Camp, where you will be hosted on a full-board basis.
Day 2: Tarangire to Lake Eyasi (Cultural Day)
After an early breakfast, depart for Lake Eyasi, a seasonal lake located in the Great Rift Valley. Here, you’ll visit the Hadza and Datoga tribes, two of Tanzania’s most fascinating indigenous groups. You will learn about their traditional lifestyles, with the opportunity to join the Hadza in hunting or gathering activities—a truly immersive cultural experience. In addition, enjoy a cooking demonstration to discover the tribe’s unique culinary practices. After a culturally rich day, return to Lake Eyasi Safari Lodge for dinner and an overnight stay in a Standard Room on a full-board basis.
Day 3: Lake Eyasi to Karatu
This morning, visit the Hadza tribe again for a deeper cultural exchange before heading to Karatu. You will enjoy a scenic drive and arrive in Karatu in time for lunch. Afterward, enjoy some leisure time or explore the town. Dinner and overnight accommodation will be at Eileen’s Trees Country Inn, a charming and comfortable lodge, where you’ll stay on a full-board basis.
Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater Tour
Today, you’ll head to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, home to one of the most unique and biodiverse ecosystems in the world. Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, a massive volcanic caldera teeming with wildlife. Spend the entire day exploring the crater, spotting lions, elephants, buffalo, and perhaps even the rare black rhino. You’ll stop for a picnic lunch at a scenic spot inside the crater, surrounded by stunning views. After a day of game viewing, head back to Eileen’s Trees Country Inn for another peaceful overnight stay with full-board services.
Day 5: Drive to Arusha via Mto wa Mbu Village Visit
On the final day, enjoy a leisurely breakfast before departing for Arusha. En route, you’ll visit Mto wa Mbu Village, a lively and vibrant community where you can learn about local life, traditions, and crafts. You’ll have the opportunity to explore the village and interact with locals before continuing your journey back to Arusha. Upon arrival, the tour ends with your drop-off at your hotel or the airport, depending on your departure plans.
