  • Depart early (around 6:30 AM) from your accommodation for a 1-hour drive to Marangu Gate (1,870 meters/6,135 feet).
  • Register with the park authorities and begin your trek.
• Late Morning:
  • Hike through the lush rainforest, filled with towering trees, moss, and unique wildlife. Keep an eye out for colobus monkeys and exotic bird species.
  • The trail is well-maintained and provides a gradual ascent, making it suitable for various fitness levels.
• Midday:
  • Arrive at Mandara Hut, a cozy rest stop surrounded by montane forest.
  • Explore the nearby Maundi Crater, which offers panoramic views of Kenya and Northern Tanzania on clear days.
• Afternoon:
  • Enjoy a packed lunch at Mandara Hut before beginning your descent.
• Evening:
  • Return to Marangu Gate and transfer back to your accommodation, arriving by late evening.
